INDEPENDENT ADVISORY ROLE
Independent Financial Advisory for Expats in Hungary.
Banking Advisory Kft is an independent financial advisory firm based in Budapest, specialising in financial education, decision-support and strategic financial orientation for expatriates, international professionals and cross-border families living in Hungary.

We provide financial guidance, education and strategic orientation to help clients understand their financial position, evaluate available options and make informed decisions within the Hungarian and European financial environment.

Our core activity is independent and non-regulated financial advisory. We do not sell financial products, we do not manage client assets and we do not execute investment transactions.

Banking Advisory operates independently from banks, asset managers and product providers, with a strong focus on transparency, financial literacy, risk awareness and long-term planning.

OUR ADVISORY MODEL AND CORE AREAS OF SUPPORT
A Clear Two-Step Model Designed to Protect Client Independence.
Banking Advisory follows a clear and transparent two-step model designed to protect client independence and ensure regulatory compliance.
01
Clarification of Financial Objectives
The first phase begins with a clear understanding of financial objectives, priorities and decision context.
02
Analysis, Explanation and Alternatives
We analyse personal and family financial situations, explain instruments and risks, and compare alternative strategies.
03
Financial Education and Cross-Border Guidance
This includes financial education, personal financial orientation and expat and cross-border financial guidance.
All activities in this first phase are independent, non-regulated and do not constitute investment advice under Hungarian law.
Are you facing any challenges with the Hungarian banking system?
Living abroad brings exciting opportunities—but also financial challenges. Hungarian taxes, investments, and the local financial market can be complex. That’s why we offer personalized financial training for expats in Hungary.
Understanding Local regulations
Each country has its own tax structures, banking rules, and investment regulations, which can be vastly different from what an expat is accustomed to. For example, some countries have double taxation agreements, while others require additional reporting for foreign income. Without expert guidance, expats may find themselves paying unnecessary taxes or struggling to stay compliant with local financial laws.

Investment Complexity
Investing in a foreign market requires understanding the economic landscape, currency fluctuations, and risk factors unique to that country. A strategy that works in one’s home country may not be suitable abroad. Additionally, some investment opportunities may be restricted to local residents, further complicating financial planning.
Banking and Currency Exchange Issues
Opening a bank account as an expat can be time-consuming and involve extensive paperwork. Additionally, foreign exchange rates and banking fees can impact an expat’s ability to save and invest efficiently. Without a proper strategy, fluctuating exchange rates can erode savings and lead to unexpected financial losses.

Retirement and Long-Term Planning
Planning for retirement abroad is another challenge, as pension schemes, social security agreements, and retirement savings plans differ by country. Expats need to ensure that their retirement plans align with the financial systems of both their home and host country.
The Solution: Expert Guidance
Given the complexity of foreign financial markets, seeking professional financial advice is crucial. An expert advisor who understands the needs of expatriates can help optimize tax strategies, identify suitable investments, and create a comprehensive financial plan tailored to an expat’s specific situation.
Understanding a new financial market abroad may be difficult, but with the right knowledge and expert assistance, expatriates can secure their financial future and make the most of their international experience.
