Why I wrote a financial education album

Open the lyrics below to discover the lesson behind the music and follow the journey from spending without a plan to building financial freedom.
Every summer, people finally have time to slow down.
They travel, spend more time with family, listen to music on long drives, relax on the beach or by the pool.
Unfortunately, they also forget everything we discussed during the year.
Financial education is no different from learning a language or going to the gym.
If you stop practising, you slowly lose the habit.
So this year I decided to try something different.
Instead of sending another article, another presentation, instead of another PDF that would probably remain unread...I wrote an album.
Not because I wanted to become a musician.
Because I wanted financial education to become something people could carry in their pocket.
Something they would actually enjoy.
Every song tells one chapter of the same story
The album follows the journey of one person.
Maybe it's you.
Maybe it's someone you know.
Maybe it's all of us at different moments in life.
The story begins with someone enjoying life.
Restaurants. Travelling. Shopping. Having fun.
Nothing wrong with that. The problem is that tomorrow simply doesn't exist.
Saving can wait. Investing can wait. Planning can wait. This continues until the character meets an old man.
After all: "Live a little." Many of us have been there.
Reality eventually arrives. Life becomes unpredictable.
The first lesson is simple. If you don't know your numbers, you are not running your life; planning enters the picture.
Cash doesn't make you rich. Cash makes you resilient.
Planning your cash flow doesn't maximise returns; it minimises panic.
Now the character starts thinking differently. Unexpected expenses appear.
Money is no longer there just to be spent. It becomes protection.
Financial freedom doesn't begin with investing. It begins with sleeping well because you have built your emergency fund, and unexpected expenses are set.
Some expenses are not surprises.
They are appointments:
A car.
A wedding.
University.
A house renovation.
Dental appointments
Money receives a purpose.
Investments are matched to future goals.
Finance becomes organised instead of emotional.
Now comes investing. Not gambling. Not chasing the next hot stock.
Every euro has a mission. Some protect. Some grow. Some generate income.
Money finally starts working instead of sitting idle.
This is the moment when wealth stops depending only on your salary.
The album finishes with a warning.
Not everyone who looks wealthy actually is. Luxury is visible. Debt isn't.
Designer clothes can be bought on credit.
Financial freedom cannot.
The song reminds us that looking successful and becoming successful are two very different things.
The philosophy behind the album
People rarely remember percentages, charts, PowerPoint slides, but they remember stories.
They remember songs; they remember emotions.
If one of my students is driving to Croatia this summer and starts singing:
"Every Dollar Got a Job..."
or
"Cash in Bank, Never Sank..."
then the lesson is no longer confined to a classroom. It has become part of the way they think.
And that has always been the real objective of financial education.
Not to create investors, but to create better decision-makers.
Money has rules.
The good news is that anyone can learn them.
Enjoy your summer.
Turn up the volume.
And let the music remind you of what really builds financial freedom.
